The Bronze Mirror Exhibition

As a photographer having a gallery exhibition was something I kind of never imagined happening for me but to have one at the CMK Library gallery, which was the first gallery in Milton Keynes makes me incredibly proud.

The idea for this came, as all of my good ideas do, one night, sat on the coach with my husband it was just before Christmas and before I knew it I had so many incredibly inspirational women involved all of whom have been so generous with their time and their stories.

I decided I needed to give the exhibition a name with strong female spirit and energy, so I’ve named it "The Bronze Mirror" which is the name for the female symbol of Venus.

This project that started so small has grown into something really special, that has brought people together and for me it’s been such a labour of love.

This magazine was an integral part of the whole process and I’m so excited for you all to see it and read it and feel it. It is the culmination of not just my work but the work of everyone woman in this project.

In the words of Maya Angelou – “Each time a woman stands up for herself, without knowing it possibly, without claiming it, she stands up for all women”.
